SENSORS & ACTUATORS

Flexmorphs™ - Piezoelectric Flexure Elements

Flexure elements have two layers of Lead Zirconate Titanate material bonded together, with electrodes in series or parallel configuration. These elements offer large displacements for positioning devices or actuators.

Features:

  • Large displacement at low voltage
  • Reliable and low cost
  • Wide range of dimensions and configurations

Applications:

  • Optical instrumentation
  • Vibration damping
  • Sensors and accelerometers
  • Precision Positioning

Piezoelectric Flexure Elements Configurations:
1. Parallel Connection
2. Series Connection

Note:

  • Flexmorphs are made with BM500 material
  • Maximum recommended voltage: 100V
  • Total thickness is 0.5mm
  • Force is expressed as blocked force (gms) required to reduce the deflection to zero.
  • The specifications shown in this table are for actuators mounted in a cantilever configuration.
  • Capacitance values are nominal (±20%). Can be sorted to tighter tolerances.
  • Special Flexmorphs are available on request.
